Hard Reset Without The Software
Jul 11th, 2007 by Tariq Bamadhaj
One of my pet peeves with Eten (Glofiish) X500 is the need for software when doing a hard reset. This is all fine and dandy when your phone is functioning properly but what if you messed it up (like I did) and there was no way to get pass the startup screen?
For those of you who are unsure of what to do in such a situation, do the following to initiate a hard reset, the only button-pressing way:
- Turn off your device
- Hold down the Power Button and at the same time press the Reset Button (with your stylus)
- The device will power on to show the typical orange scree
- At this time, release both the Power and Reset Button and press the Red Phone (End Call) Button
- A question will come up asking you if you would like to erase all data and load the default. Tap ‘Yes’ or press the left softkey which corresponds to the option. You only have 5 seconds to do so or you would have to restart the whole process.
- If you got pass the first question, a second question will appear. Pressing or tapping ‘Yes’ will complete the process.
- Your device will start the Hard Reset process and soon you will have a clean device.
Sometimes when the first question comes up, your entry does not register. All I can say is, try again until you succeed. Does this work for you? Do you have other methods of hard resetting the device?
