Firstly, welcome back to Eten Blog dot Com. It’s been a long wait and I sure hope there won’t be any other problems from here on out.

Every one who is anyone who is using Windows Mobile knows that the ‘X’ button does not really close but only minimizes it. This would be great if we wanted to do that but most of the time, when I click on the ‘X’ button, I want it to close the program. Searching for such task managers came up empty, either because they were too bloated for everyday use or too expensive for something so simple. That was until pBar came along.

I have been using pBar since it was first introduced to the masses. At that time, v1.2 was the way to go and it worked perfect with all my past WM devices. WM2003SE? Perfect. WM5? No problems there. WM6? No stopping it. So why come up with a v1.4 then if everything works so fine?

Well, for starters, it fixes the cosmetics of the program. For those using the older v1.2 on WM6, you would notice that color where the inverted triangle was somehow did not blend in well with the rest of the status bar. v1.4 fixes that as you can see below.

You would also notice from the picture above 3 new icons from the top row representing your phone, bluetooth and wifi connection. Now you no longer have to use Wireless Manager to turn your services on or off as pBar v1.4 allows you to do just that. For those of you using pBar to show date, you will be pleased to know that the program allows you to change the format in this latest version.

pBar v1.4 About Page

pBar v1.4. It works as it should and its free. If it’s not already in your device, I recommend you get it here and now.Task managers don’t come any better than this. Is pBar your choice for task managers? Or do you swear by something else?
