I tried using the trial version of Vito AudioNotes to record phone conversations. I set it to record automatically whenever a call is made or received.

The recording activation works well. It automatically records conversations and file them according to dates. However, I can only hear my own voice. The other party’s voice is very muffled and soft though I can hear him/her well.

Is this a bug that needs to be corrected?

I am using a Dopod 818Pro, recording to SD with MP3 encoding.

Did you try adjusting the microphone gain?

Hi. I’ve download the trial version of the VITO AudioNotes to my pda phone. I am not sure is there anything I need to take note or not because I’ve tried to set the mic to auto or even manual adjust to the max but the other party voices are very soft, I need transfer the file to m PC and re-edit. I also realize the recording abit delay when I’ve great someone during the conversation, I already install direct to phone memory and using the high speed card. Is there anything I need to notices??

So far I’m still happy of the software and hopefully in future that it can fix out the bug. :)

One key feature that I feel which will make it stand out above the competition would be to have very convenient editing capabilities, which allows instant editing such as deleting certain parts of the recorded sound file.(WAV/MP3) (JUST LIKE THE WINDOWS SOUND RECORDER) Functions such as delete portion before/after selected position. which would help make the file smaller & shorter duration as well, keeping the important parts only. Also other functions like add echo/reverse/increase speed etc (though the 1st option is my main concern)

I’ve just installed the trial version and used it during my lecture. I found the recording quality to be very clear as compared to using the default notes recorder in WM6. The mic gain (even at soft) could pick up the lecturer’s voice who’s about 3 metres away. I’m loving this app!

Perhaps when the “menu” is tapped, a box of options be presented instead of having to tap “menu” several times to change several options. Such as when
Menu>turn off screen>30 secs (is once)
Menu>recording options>.. (is twice) and more.

My Audionotes was on (but not recording) when my Eten X500 went into standby mode. When I turned on my ppc and tap record, Audionotes closed suddenly. This doesn’t happen all the time though, just twice.

Have a Today plugin for quick recordings!

Hmm I think there should be hardware buttons integrated to control the volume during recording. It’s too troublesome controlling using the screen when I need to flip open the cover. And my prof will think I’m surfing the net!

The ability to password protect a note would be useful - in particular, if you are targetting the product at lawyers, doctors, on indeed anyone who might be recording sensitive or confidential information.

The improvement I want to see:
- To record incoming and outgoing phone conversation. This feature was available in previous version but now with WM6, I can’t record anymore.

Cheers,
Vibranze
