Find out how the Glofiish M800 by Eten fares

I have been using my Eten Glofiish X500 for quite some time now and have been really happy with its stability. But the one cosmetic problem that never seems to get fixed is the green LED that refuses to light up after a full charge. So what happens is when you connect your device for charging (either during ActiveSync or to the AC mains), the right LED turns red and when charging is complete, the LED disappears. Wait a minute? Shouldn’t it be green?

Recently, I found out that the LED does indeed turn green after charging is completed IF, and only IF, your phone is turned out. If your phone was turned on, then a full charge would simply show the LED going from red to blinking green (phone signal status). If you think about it, it does make sense, since the phone signal is also green. So if were to be a solid green when the battery was full, you would not know why if the phone signal was good.

I guess it could be more of a design planning than a bug as many thought initially. If this was indeed the case, then I wouldn’t mind the LED not being a solid green when the phone is on and its fully charged. Do you?

It will turn off if your phone is on when charging is complete. In your case, charging was not complete but it still showed 100% which is normal.

Strange, I’m quite sure my LED turns green when the battery is full, either switched on or off. I’ll confirm this again tomorrow, with my phone on and charged via USB. Give me about 12 hrs! :)

If your LED turns green when you are charging with the GSM module turned on, then it would be rare and you are lucky :D

Ok, it’s confirmed that the LED does turn green with the GSM module and phone turned on.

Congratulations. You have one of the few devices that is able to do that. So far I have yet to hear of others with that device. I wonder what tweaks you made to it.

Erm, I didn’t made any specific registry tweaks to the LED problem. However, I did run some patches by trendsmobile on the X500. Perhaps there’s some unknown fixes inside :D

I did the same thing as well and installed all the patches they have but I do not get the LED to go on when GSM is on.

The battery of my ETEN X500+ never goes above 95%, no matter how long I charge it for. Any ideas on that?

Hi Thomas

That is definitely weird. Have you tried using other battery managers to see if it goes to 100%?
