Well it pretty much looks the same and functions the same save for some minor changes. There was some upgrades that was due and thus the blog had to undergo maintenance. I’ve been testing it since the upgrade to make sure things are working as they should be but if something’s wonky, do let me know.

Here are some of the changes which you might have missed:

Email Subscription. Instead of just RSS, you can also follow this blog by subscribing to it via email. There is a box in the sidebar on your right where you can enter your email and subscribe to the articles in this blog. So instead of visiting everyday, you will have these articles delivered to your inbox. Be sure to confirm your subscription as it uses a double opt-in method to prevent spam.

Tags. At the end of each post, there are tags related to the post. This would be really useful if you want to search for something. Say you read a review about browsers but you are not sure which one I was referring to. Instead of searching for reviews, you can search for browser and chances are what you are looking for would be there. There might be more features added to tags in the future but in the mean time, that’s all it does. I am not sure if I will add tags to older posts but will keep that in mind.

Smileys. Spice up your comments with smileys. Just click on a smiley and it’ll automatically be added to your post. No more wondering if the shortcuts are supported or how your smiley will look like.

Shorter Page. You might have noticed that the site is actually shorter. Well that’s because I have decreased the number of articles on the front page to 5 (initially it was 10). This helps to load the site faster which in turn would make your surfing experience a better one

Previous And Next Post. If you were to click on an article, you will be able to read the articles that were posted before and after (if available) it. The links at the top of the page will help you with your navigation and change according to your location on the site.

Related Articles. There used to be a feature at the end of each article that would show you some related articles in this blog. It has since been removed because it was not working properly with this new setup. I’m still trying to find the cause of the problem and once it is fixed, will put it back up.

Besides the ones listed above, I also made some aesthetics changes to this blog. Let me know what you think of this changes and if you have any to recommend
