Find out what Windows Mobile Developers are thinking

Blogging can mean different things to different people. I like to blog because I feel it’s one of the best ways to share what I know about Windows Mobile and Eten devices with those who are just starting out. Then there are those who blog to share their personal experiences with the world wide web. Whatever your reason for blogging, one thing’s for sure: making our blogging lives easier is definitely a welcome.

Which is what Pocket Watch tries to do with its Mobile GBlogger software. The reason there is a G there is because it’s only catered for bloggers on the Blogspot platform which is owned by Google. This software would be really great for those using Blogger because now you can share your experience from just about anywhere. On vacation by the beach? Blog about it. On a bus and you saw something interesting? Blog about it. No more waiting to get home and pen your thoughts when you can do it immediately.

Choose between the free version or the paid ($15 per year) version. The biggest difference is that there will be a line of advertisement at the end of your post with the former but none with the latter. If you are still up for it, head over to the site to find out more.

Hi!

I learned here something again today. Going to the GBlogger site now.

My Eten almost died on me. Oh boy! But it’s good now.

Hi Tariq,

After installing the Handy Launcher, I disabled all the other plug-ins except for the date and planned just to have the date and the 3 SPB today plug-ins on my today screen. So I installed SPB Mobile Shell, then after that the SPB Pocket Plus 4, my Eten was oK. Then I installed SPB Diary 2, immediately after installation, the screen can’t load the today screen. The start bar was blank, below it, half the screen says ‘loading SPB Pocket Plus…’ , but was not able to even for a long time. The other half was the green Windows Mobile plug-in when u reset ur mobile. The command bar below was gone. So, I made a soft reset and the same screen came to me, can’t load the today, though a waited for it a while maybe it would come about. But nada. So I made another soft reset. Still the same screen. So I thought it’s time for a hard reset. So I did it. THAT SENT MY ETEN TO COMA. Now all u can see is the “Eten– Minds on the move” orange screen. Never goes further. The backlight remains on. I waited but still till now. I tried to remove the battery and put it back on and made another hard reset, but screen is as far as u can go. IT’S COMATOSE.

Is it a no-no to make a installations one after another? What could have happened? What could be done other than taking it to the mobile hospital and have a transplant to wake it up again? =< So sad.. I don’t like going to repair shops for repairs. Never had.

Hi nam11

I am sorry to hear about this. Devices going into such a state is something we hope we never have to do. In your case, I guess it was due to a software conflict. When you did the hard reset, was your memory card in the slot? If it is, was it a formatted card or was it filled with data?

My advice when doing hard resets is to always remove any external cards such as SIM and SD cards. Try doing another hard reset with these items removed and see if it works for you?

As for installations, its best to install one at a time, and do a soft reset before installing another. There is no hard and fast rule about installation but this is how I go about with mine.
