Handango is at it again with their Free Software Friday. When they first launched, the offered CodeWallet Pro 2006 by DeveloperOne. That was 4 weeks ago. Since then, they released free software every Friday for a different platform each week. This week, they go back to the Pocket PC platform and what do we have? A free copy of MobiTV which allows you to do just as the name says: to watch TV on your mobile device.

The software sells for $9.99 at Handango. To qualify, all you need to do is visit this link, enter your email address and wait for an email in your inbox from them. It will contain a link to download the software. You will need to log into your Handango account if you have not already done so. If you do not have one, signing up is free. Download and install and you are good to go.

So far it works for me and I can get streaming TV right on my Eten Glofiish X500. I am not sure how long this will last because the MobiTV site sells this on a subscription basis of $9.99 a month. Will my license expire in a month? I’m not sure as I can’t seem to find out from within the program.

Another thing I found out is that you will need to turn on your phone when using the program. If you do not have an unlimited mobile data plan or even a data plan, no problem. Just make sure your WiFi is also turned on and it will use that connection instead. That way, the streaming is totally free.

Have you gotten your free copy of MobiTV?

I downloaded this last night for my X500+, but I get an error that says it does not support 640×480…bummer.

Hi Pete

That is definitely a bummer. Better luck in the future.
