Working on part 2 of the Glofiish X800
Nov 5th, 2007 by Xavier Baez
Thanks everybody who read my review. I am working a lot in improving the review, next version, version 2, will have
- videos
- screenshots
- photos (WWE, taken today at San Bernardino)
- VoIP services (Fling, Skype, VoIP stunt) results - that means my recommendation after 30 minute calls to South America using voip
- software compatibility and memory issues
- software winners
- what software is better?
- Netfront 3.4, Opera or Internet Explorer?
- Skype or VoipStunt?
- GoogleMaps, TomTom6 Navigator, Windows Live?
- SK Tools or Pocket Toolman?
- Tengo, Tengo Thumb, SPB Fullscreen keyboard…
- TCPMP, Pocket Music Bundle, Core Player or Windows Media?
- T-Mobile EDGE, orAT&T 3G?? (You might be SURPRISED with the results!!!) - test will be taken in Los Angeles, Boston, New York, Washington
- VoIP using 3G or WiFi?
- Alternative to Windows Messenger, Skype? - meet fling!
- I will also post a list of the “memory eaters” programs, programs that are cool but will use 0.5MB-2MB of your precious RAM, so far the MONSTER eaters are Opera and Netfront34, not even TomTom Navigator 6 uses as much memory as those, might have to do something with Ajax pages
- Glofiish X800 leather case and car mount comparison! - Before going to Ebay, read this in order to see which leather cases, rub cases… either through Ebay or BestBuy, are the best option to carry your Glofiish, some cases will even carry your SD cards and credit cards!
-
I hope people will use freeware, easy to use, or buy programs that are worth it, and compatible with Glofiish X800
- what software is better?
So stay tuned, the Glofiish X800 era has begun!
Here is a detailed description of what’s to come in my review:
Hello
Sorry for the delay but I’m been busy
I am currently obsessed (honestly) with all the VoIP applications
it seems like VoIP is the best option so far, it is better than skype
stay tuned for more info
I am also comparing Opera vs NetFront 34
and I am also trying to figure out a way to install 20+ apps and still have 21-25 MB of free memory, hopefully some value near 24MB
I am also comparing Opera vs Netfront34 to see which one uses less memory, and I may try Opera Mini using Java
I have sucessfully tested Google Maps and TomTom6 with the GPS, however I still need to drive with the GPS to see the speed of the rerouting
So, stay tuned. I am testing a lot of things, with Pocket Toolman maybe SkTools will not longer be needed
I am also testing disabling .dll files from the startup to increase the 25MB memory (I deleted them all, had to hard reset my device hahaha)
I am also testing new VoIP software packages like Fring, so as you can see, I’m doing lots of things!
I will keep you updated!
Oh I forgot, I am also testing 3G speed on AT&T vs T-Mobile EDGE speed, I have tried this in Los Angeles, next week I will try in Boston, New York and Washington, so stay tuned!!!
And I am also testing if removing the keyboards, increasing the network values… will benefit the memory or not
