Werner “Menneisyys” Ruotsalainen Recaps

Over at Smartphone and Pocket PC Magazine, Werner “Menneisyys” Ruotsalainen does a recap or Windows Mobile news that he has been dealing with recently such as the projects he undertakes as well as some of the software that he has been testing with. A good Sunday read to catch up on what he’s been up to and what has been happening in the software field.

Halo 3 Mobile Stats

I’m not much of a video gamer but I have heard great things about Halo. For those of you who are crazy about the game, some of your players have got together to create a mobile site for you to check your Halo 3 stats. You could also use it to check the stats of other players as long as you know their gamertag. Whether or not it’s useful is all dependent on you.

Charging Phone Batteries

Some time back, I gave my opinion on how often you should charge you phone. To summarize, I advocated charging it anytime you want instead of waiting for the battery to die. While I did not have any data to back me up at that time, the conclusion is still the same. They have done some tests to prove that charging your phone every time you get the chance does in fact give it the longest battery life. Thanks to Werner “Menneisyys” Ruotsalainen again for the heads up.

Word Processing On The Move

In a nice and short write up, James Thornton from insideTonic discusses options for working with Word documents on your handheld. If you are one of those who spent a fair amount of time on your Pocket PC with Word documents, do check his article out.

Windows Mobile Devices Get Better

Smart Device Central has a nice write up on how manufacturers are trying to better the experience of Windows Mobile. They also have a nice list of upcoming phones running WM6. I wonder why the Eten Glofiish X800 is not that list though.

Best Pocket PC Freeware List

If you are looking to deck out your Windows Mobile with software but not planning to spend a bundle on it, then freeware is the way to go. There are a whole host of programs out there for you to choose from and deciding which one to use can be a daunting task. But with this list of Pocket PC freeware as a reference, your task has just been made easier.

Every Sunday is Spread Link Love day. On this day, Eten Blog dot Com takes a backseat and instead brings the spotlight to other sites around the web about the interesting articles they have covered. These sites are randomly picked and/or suggested by the readers of this blog. So if you have something interesting for us to post in this section, let us know about it. In the mean time, enjoy what we have to offer for this week.
