Infineon Teams With Intel For High-Density (HD) SIM CardsFor a moment, I thought I read it wrongly and thought it was for memory cards but apparently there are no errors there. Why anyone would need a high capacity SIM card is beyond me, with more and more devices now having the ability to use external memory cards. And these HD SIM cards are not exactly sporting GBs of space but instead 4-64MB. The companies involved believe that “data-intensive mobile applications, services and over-the-air downloads” will work better with these newer SIM cards but I wonder what exactly they mean.
Solar-Powered Bluetooth Headsets Anyone?
Iqua thinks so and will be releasing this device soon. There is not much news about it except from Engadget’s announcement of it but we think this might be really useful for those who use the bluetooth headset a lot AND stay in the sun a lot. Otherwise, how is it going to charge itself? Then again, if all you need is a short time in the sun to fully charge it up, then send me one when it comes out.
Eten Glofiish M800 and X600 Goes Official
Again, no official word on the official Glofiish website but it seems that Pocket PC Thoughts managed to pick up a press release from UK Eten. The M800 is just like the X800 which was recently released but sports a QWERTY keyboard. Think X500 and M700 and you’ll know what I mean. The X600 is a thinner and (some say) better looking of the X500 so no 3G there. Unfortunately, no exact date on the release of these devices will be released.
Google Maps Mobile Gets An Upgrade
If you have been an avid of Google Maps but chose not to use it on your Windows Mobile, this new upgrade could change your mind. At version 1.7.1.4, it supports real-time traffic and details about businesses such as opening and closing times. Granted it’s not as good as its desktop or web counterpart, but you could get a lot done on the move, especially if you have a (unlimited) mobile data plan.
Agenda One Version 2 Released
DeveloperOne, developers of Agenda One, one of the best Pocket Information Managers out there, have just released Agenda One Version 2. Priced at $24.95, you can get it for $14.95 if you were using Version 1. There are no news about those who recently bought Version 1 only to find out that Version 2 was available a couple of days/weeks later. Maybe DeveloperOne will contact these users directly.
