Christmas Shopping List For Pocket PC
Dec 10th, 2007 by Tariq Bamadhaj
If you have yet to get down to Christmas shopping or spending your year end bonus, it’s still not too late. Spoilt with the huge number of choices one could make, it is no wonder that deciding on what to give or get for yourself can cause one of the worst headaches of the year. But you don’t have to suffer alone. Here at Eten Blog dot Com, we have come up with the list of 5 gifts that you can give to that special someone (including yourself if you fancy it). And if you’ve got some spare cash around after all that spending and would like to send me one, let me know
Jawbone Headset
Nothing says it better a clear conversation. And with the Jawbone headset, gone will be the days of the person on the other line asking you “SPEAK UP!!!” That’s because the Jawbone uses bone conduction technology to transmit conversation instead of the usual audio. This way, the person you are calling will be able to hear you, whether you are in a concert hall or walking pass a construction site.
If you’ve always been receiving complains with audio quality on your bluetooth headset or someone you love is, then this headset will put a stop to it. It uses the same technology as that used by the elite armed forces so you know it works. What better reason could there be?
SDHC Memory Cards
The next generation of memory cards are here and boy do their huge capacities make you go “WOW!!” With capacities up to 16GB and growing, I doubt you will ever run out of space on your Pocket PC now. And don’t forget the speed. Because no one wants a large capacity card to be slow. Price varies, depending on the capacity of the card, with the 4GB version starting at $30. It might be small but it is something that the receiver of this gift will definitely find useful.
Piel Frama Leather Cases
You’ve spent a bomb on your Pocket PC. Why not spend a bit more to protect it and at the same time, make it look good? With the Piel Frama leather case, you can do just that. The cases are made of nice soft leather and they exude luxury. For those who are keen on features and compartments, these cases also usually (depending on model) come with slots for you to keep some cards and/or storage.
Car Kits
Has your loved one recently bought a Pocket PC and drives? If he’s already gotten the Jawbone headset to go along with his purchase, the next best thing you can get him would be a car kit. There are many versions of the car kits such as the basic that just holds up the device in a comfortable viewing angle. Perfect for PDAs with navigation systems. A good brand to look out for this type of car kit is the one from Dicota.
Or if you are looking for something more complete, then there are car kits that let your charge your device on the move and hook up to your stereo system. While they do not come cheap, these car kits serve almost all purposes in the car. A good place to start looking for one is Expansys.
Pocket PC Software Gift Cards
If all else fails, you can always get that special someone a gift card. But not just any gift card. Get them one from Pocket Gear or Handago, two of the biggest Pocket PC software stores out there. With the gift card, you can be assured that they will be getting what they want. Who doesn’t need software on their Windows Mobile right?
Whatever your gift choice, be sure to shop early. Some retailers have a cut off time for you to place orders if you want to receive it before Christmas while others may not even ship to your residence. So be sure to do your research and order early.
What are some of your gift ideas this Christmas?

Were (or when) will I be able to buy a 16GB microSD card?
Hi Xavier
Good question. The 8GB have just been released so it would be a while before the 16GB becomes available. Best places to check would be manufacturer’s website and Amazon.com. I would not recommend eBay because a lot of people have been cheated in this area.
