Do you have a file or application that you would like to launch every time your Windows Mobile device starts up? Maybe its a to-do list of a big project that you will be working on for the next couple of weeks or months. Or maybe its an application such as a close button program that helps you to really close a program. If this fits your situation or if you just want to launch certain file(s) or application(s) at startup, then here’s the tip for you.

All you need to do is copy the shortcut to the item/file to \Windows\StartUp. If you are familiar with the PC version of Windows, then you would know what I mean. Anything within this folder will launch at startup so be careful of what you place in this folder.

Clean Up Your StartUp Folder

If your device takes a long time to start up, then it could be due to many applications that is set to launch. If you do not need these applications, then you can remove them from the startup folder, thereby freeing up resources at the same time. As the needs differ from user to user, there is no standard applications that you should have here that I can give you. Experiment for yourself until you find a nice balance.
