First time here? Why not read this?

Recently, we started covering news related to Windows Mobile again on this site, something we used to do. And today, we’re bringing back Link Love, another feature on this site that we used to have in the past. For those unaware, Link Love is basically a collection of articles from other sites which we find interesting and thought of sharing with you. Unlike news, these articles are not announcement of new services or products but more along the lines of useful information.

  • Ever wondered why sometimes you could not delete certain files in /Windows/ directory? I did. There were times when I wanted to remove some files which were just taking up space and I had no use for it. This article by Scott of the Windows Mobile Team Blog serves to explain just why this is the case. Alas, it just explains but does not teach you how to. Nonetheless, an interesting read.
  • I’ve always followed the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) but so far, have not been to one. For those of you who had a time following it this time around, pocketnow.com has a great wrap-up article on it.
  • While still at pocketnow.com, they have an article on the most used keyword searched for smartphones. Anyone want to guess how the trend goes? The answers here.
  • Over at Smartphone & Pocket PC Magazine, the writers there have been asked to do an article on their favorite applications. It was rather interesting read with a whole list of new applications that I have not even heard of recommended by some of these writers. Find out what Ben Stanley, Mike Riley and Nate Addock had to say about the applications. And if you are interested, I have my list there too
  • This is a rather old article when you compare it with the rest of the articles here but I think it’s worth a good read. Just Another Mobile Monday has a well-thought article on fixing the broken Windows Mobile through 9 features.
  • GoogleAndroid on Windows Mobile? I sure hope that becomes a reality. Or maybe it already is if you take this article as the first to bring Android to WM.
  • I always love reading stories of users from one platform to Windows Mobile. This time around, its from Stephen Wildstorm of Business Week and he recounts his experience from the Pal Treo (which is a great phone I might add) to Windows Mobile’s Moto 9Q. How did it go? Find out here.
  • If you’ve just bought a Windows Mobile device, you might want to read our Beginner’s Guide Series. (Part I, II, III, IV & V). Also, Microsoft is here to help you with their training website which was recently launched.
  • Are the days of the iPhone numbered? Mitchell Ashley seems to think so with the leaked Windows Mobile 7. He has some pretty strong arguments there but I think the iPhone is here to stay. What do you think?

That’s all we have lined up for you this week. We hope you enjoy these articles as much as we did. If you have a site or article that you would like to include in this feature, let us know about it. We’d love to hear from you.
