Yeah you heard me right. Would you like to win some cash? Thanks to the advertisers for the month of February 2008, I am able to give back to this site. So to reward you for your support, I am going to have a prize giveaway unlike any I have done here at Eten Blog dot Com. For the first time since, money (or it’s equivalent in the form of a check or Paypal) will be given to the winners.

To Win…

Yes you heard me right. I said winners. But first the rules. To win, you have to be a Top Commentator. That means, you have to be the one who has left the most comments in this site. Only comments left at the end of articles (or posts if you would like to call it) will be counted. Not those in forums. Not the emails you send to me. Just comments.

The Prizes…

There will be 3 winners chosen, so that means you have just need to be the one who left the third higher number of comments to win. If we use January’s data, that means you just need to leave 1 comment (unbelievable I know). Here are the prizes:

1^st Prize: $30
2^nd Prize: $20
3^rd Prize: $10

The amounts may not be big but when you use last months data, you only had to leave 2 comments to be the win the top prize. How much easier can that be? On top of that, all comments left in other prize giveaways will also be counted so you’re killing many birds with one stone.

Decision Time…

Because of the way the counter counts the comments (it resets automatically at the start of the month), I will be choosing the winners on Thursday, February 28th 2008 at 12.00pm Eastern Time. For those curious, that’s 5 hours (-5) behind GMT. That means all comments that you want to add must be done before that time.

This competition is going to be held for the whole month so even if you are leading for 27 days, does not mean you will at the end of the 28^th day. It’s anybody’s game.

Do I Need To Register?

Nope you don’t have to register to leave a comment. Anyone can leave a comment.

Will All My Comments Be Accepted?

Well as long as they are not spam, yes they will be accepted. So as long as you leave a comment that is related to the post (very important otherwise it will be flagged as spam and removed), you count goes up. However, sometimes some of your comments may need to be moderated because it is flagged. If this is the case, you will usually see it approved (if it is not spam) within 24 hours.

How Can I Track The Comments?

There is a box at the right (sidebar) towards the bottom that has a a header as the one you see above (Top Commentators). It will automatically tabulate the top 5 commentators for the month (though only the top 3 will win).

How Will I Get My Money?

For users outside of the United States, I will use Paypal to send you the money (I am not responsible for the fees incurred) if you are the winner. Or if you prefer (and living in the United States), I can send you a check. I am open to any other method but do discuss it with me.

For those wondering, I did not manage to sell all the ad space directly to advertisers as had hoped. So if you know of someone interested in buying some ad space, do let me know about it.
