Something like that, you can store energy in devices called capacitors http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor but they cannot store much energy, the high capacity ones can only provide power for a few seconds to one ppc, they are useful to help maintaining voltage constant but not to work as battery's. That's why I choose a lead acid battery for my solar tracker, it's easy to charge and has very good capacity, the only disadvantages are the size and the weight.

Hi PJMDs

I am speechless man. Really.

I know there are some devices, and correct me if I am wrong, that uses a reservoir or something like that. So the solar panel would transfer charge to the reservoir and it in turn will charge a device, which could be a Pocket PC. This way the Pocket PC will be getting a constant current/charge.

Sorry I am using the wrong terms but I hope you get my idea.

It's easy to charge your ppc with the sun, even if you know nothing about electricity, there's just a problem, each panel like those I used can only provide a current of something like 200mA with the sun directly over them (no clouds), as you might know to charge properly our devices you need a good and stable source of power, for example USB can provide stable 5V with a current of 500mA, with solar panels you can't keep stable voltage and current unless on those summer days without any clouds, even in those days you need many solar panels to get those 5V and a current of at least 500mA.

Charging my ppc with solar panels I found out that it caused problems because of the low current, the battery wouldn't charge properly, even if the device was at 100% battery it could drop the 30% and become unstable. To overcome that
I'm currently working on a device that follows the sun and charges a 6V lead acid battery, with that device it will be easy to charge my ppc and have no battery problems.

There are commercial products to charge our devices with the sun or wind but I know that they have the same problems with low currents.

Best regards

Hi PJMDs

I sure will. I just saw solar powered device. It's pretty cool. Maybe you could make a portable solar powered charger for our phones :D

Hi PJMDS

There are some sites that I do go to on a regular basis, some more often than not. I use a variety of methods from feeds, to newsletters to relationships to trade and so forth. It's really hard to pinpoint on one because there are so many options.

Hi Tariq , how do you know all those news ? do you go to every blog, forum, site everyday or do you use something to manage feeds from them ?

I use one program to manage feeds but it already has to many feeds than I can read everyday, not all my feeds are about the pocket pc world but mostly about technology.
