It’s just over a week till Valentine’s and if you have yet to get your shopping completed, then fret not. You still have 10 days (depending when you are reading this). That’s not to say I encourage last minute shopping though  Some may say you do not want to get them Pocket PC related items for fear of encouraging their addiction. To you I say, nothing is better than a gift they will want to use  .

Let’s start with the most expensive but also the one that is probably on his mind. The Eten Glofiish X800, if you have not about it, is one of the most feature packed Pocket PC phones out there. From it’s quad-band telephony to its 3.5G connectivity and a VGA screen for a breath-taking view, this phone is a clear winner out there.

Bluetooth Headsets

Perhaps your significant other already has a Pocket PC that he or she adores. No worries. You could always get them some cool accessories like a bluetooth headset to go with it.

MOTOROKR T505

This is a bluetooth headset unlike any other for drivers. Just clip it to the visor and they are good to go. Why spend a bomb on a professional installation when the MOTOROKR T505 does the same thing. Did I tell you that you could also link up to your car speakers for surround sound? Add the noise-cancellation features and you can say goodbye to all those poor conversations you had with your beloved on their ride back from home.

Aliph Jawbone

Maybe you want a bluetooth headset that he can use anywhere, not just in the car. Well then the Aliph Jawbone is one that you would like to conside. It uses jawbone technology, the same technology used by the military, so you know you are getting something top-notch. With this headset, no matter how loud the surrounding environment is, conversation will carry on as if you were in a quiet room.

Jabra JX-10

If style is something you prefer, then the Jabra JX-10 fits the bill perfectly. It’s won numerous design awards while still remaining functional. Just how functional you ask? Well it’s got noise-canceling technology to eliminate all those surrounding noise. It’s also one of the lightest headsets around.

Portable Battery Pack

If your significant other is a road warrior, then they must have mentioned portable power source or something similar at one time. This portable battery pack is something you will want to get them. With a 3400mAh capacity, it can keep any of their USB device juiced up until they can find a power source for a proper full charge.

Charging Station

If there is a large amount of electronic device in your home, why not get him a gift that will not only make the home neater, but something you can use as well? The charger starter pack allows you to charge up to 6 devices. It’s small and portable which means you can bring it to you on vacations on well. I mean your significant other can bring it on vacations. It’s their gift right?

Piel Frama Leather Case

Nothing says a person has arrived like a nice leather case. And you can do the same for your significant other by giving them a Piel Frama Leather case, among the best cases out there for their device. But it’s just meant for the Pocket PC because it doubles up as a universal wallet as well. Nice!

Storage Cards

4GB SD Micro SDHC 6GB SD Micro SDHC 8GB SD Micro SDHC
4GB Micro SDHC 6GB Micro SDHC 8GB Micro SDHC

So you want to get your significant other something cheaper you say? Well how about storage cards? Also known as memory cards, these would increase the capacity on their device which means they can carry even more data like MP3s and videos with them. Not forgetting their favorite photographs of you. Prices depend on the capacity. They start from the low $30s for the 4GB version and go up over $70 for the 8GB version.

So there you have it. Some of the best gifts you could give your Pocket PC lover (in more ways than one anyways). Also, what’s Valentine’s day without flowers right? Here’s something to get you started.

Grower Flowers

These fresh flowers are direct from the growers so you can be assured of their freshness. Get a bunch and send them to your lover at their office. A pleasant surprise definitely.

Indoor Garden

AeroGarden...Try It Free!!

Perhaps your lover is more of a garden person? Or she doesn’t want flowers because they die after a while? Then get something slightly different. The AeroGarden is the world’s first indoor smart garden - It’s so easy to use that anyone, with or without gardening experience can grow lush, beautiful gardens right in their homes. The computerized AeroGarden tells you to add water and nutrients. The micro-processor automatically adjusts nutrient delivery and water flow, and even turns grow lights on and off to simulate the sun.

With the AeroGarden, you’ll know it last much longer than flowers. And she will always have something to remind her of that special day that you two shared together.

There you have it, gift ideas to get you started on your Valentine day’s gift shopping if you have not already done so. Unlike Christmas where the longer you wait, the lower the price drops, unfortunately, this is not the case for Valentine’s Day. At least for such gifts mentioned here at least. So don’t wait any longer. Complete your Valentine Day gift shopping today!

Hi PJMDS

I was planning to put up the M800 or the V900 but they’re not out yet so I had to make do with what’s available.

As for the Jawbone, I have not had any hands-on experience with it but I have heard some pretty good reviews with it. The only complaint I heard thus far is that your voice sounds mechanized in some cases. Not sure why but until I can get test a unit, I would have to base on other reviews.

Hi Tariq, the mechanized sound is expected but if the person on the other side understand what we say than there’s no problem, it’s nice for people who work on places with lots of noise :)
I’m thinking of buying one device with jawbone technology, the main reason I don’t have one already is the price and because most of them aren’t stereo.
Best regards

Hi PJMDS

That’s true. To me, mechanized sound output it good enough if the person is in a noisy environment. I just need to know the content of the conversation.

I think most high end bluetooth headsets, the good ones at least, are around that price range. I do have other cheaper headsets, but they can’t seem to hold up in noisy environments pretty well, even a Plantronics one.

I agree that the 3400mAH battery charger is a great investment. I have the Proporta one (but I’m sure they’re the same). Works great.

As for bluetooth headset, any stereo ones? I have a Treo bluetooth headset and it seems that when calling someone that the other side tends to hear a second lapse from his side and it’s not great a noise cancellation.

Hi maceyr

Well there are some stereo ones out there, but I have yet to try any and the main problem I usually hear about such devices is the quality of sound due to drivers on Windows Mobile. Have you tried any from Plantronics or Jabra? They seem to feature better quality headsets.

I guess my main requirement is that they do a good job of background noise cancelation so stereo is just something that would be nice but not necessary. I’m also trying to double its use as a Skype microphone as well, since I am now mostly using the Treo bluetooth headset as my wireless bluetooth headset. Maybe I’ll check out Plantronics or Jabra. What models have you tried?

Hi May C

I am currently using the Plantronics Discovery 640. It’s a pretty old model and while there is noise canceling, it works well based on my needs (since the only time I use a headset is when I am at my desk). If you need noise cancellation, there are other models from them out there worth looking into.

Thanks. Anyone else have good experience with other Plantronics or other branded bluetooth headsets? I want something with good quality and good background noise cancellation. Thanks.

Okay, like I said, I’m really most going to use it for Skype calls and don’t want to sound like I’m calling from a computer so the noise canceling aspect isn’t that big, but like I said, my Treo bluetooth headset isn’t great and people I call with that tell me they hear a second delay from their end and I can tell that background sounds get picked up.

I’ll look into the Plantronics.

Tariq, just wondering if you are able to use it with your computer? Because if you are, then, I will look into the Plantronics bluetooth headsets. Right now, going through their compatibility guide, it doesn’t even look like there’s anything that will support the Treo 750. And none of the show compatibility with computers. If you have bluetooth support on your computer, could you check if it works? Thanks

Hi maceyr

I can’t seem to find my BT adaptor for my laptop but if I do, sure I would be willing to try it out. By the way, where are you located? I am in Philadelphia, PA.

I’m up in northern British Columbia (a province/state) in Canada. Let me know if you can get it to work because like I said, I really want a wireless headset for Skype (most important) since the Treo headset isn’t very good and it would be nice to use it for the Treo 750. Thanks.
