Recommended Software

Last week, you were able to purchase SBSH’s PocketBreeze for 45% off the retail price which translated to only $10.97. $10.97 for an award-winning software and is also one of the best-selling software on many sites is a real steal and I hope you’ve managed to get yourself a license. In fact, I was told that someone bought 3 licenses so that he could give them away to his friends for their upcoming birthdays. Whatever the reason, I hope you enjoyed the deal. And for those of you wondering, well, the deal is no longer available.

However, not all is lost. This week, we bring to you, SBSH’s PhoneWeaver. Like the previous offer, this one is 45% discounted as well. While it would normally retail for $14.95, you can now get it for only $8.22 (45% Off)!

There are so many great reasons for you to get PhoneWeaver. Not just because of the deal. Check out the review I did of it as well. On top of that, PhoneWeaver fills a gap left by Windows Mobile.

So if you have yet to make your purchase, go ahead and do so now. This offer will end at 2359 on February 17th 2008 so act now to avoid disappointments later.

I wonder where SBSH gets the money to pay the developers, it seems like all their products are available at some discount at some place all the time!
I really recommend PhoneWeaver. There are some software programs that claim to make your life more productive but there is a big learning curve to get used to it. For example, I recently re-installed Phatware Calligrapher and I can’t really say that it makes typing faster, because I have to correct my input all the time.
But when it comes to PhoneWeaver - you spend some time setting up the profiles, and then it saves you all those little moments of time where you mute your device before going into a meeting, or set it to Vibrate when you go to sleep, and it can even start your navigation when the car profile is activated! There also are some cool smaller things to discover, like setting up PhoneWeaver shortcuts with iLauncher to toggle WiFi, for example.

I have to agree that I love SBSH products. I splurged on the Pocket PC mag special bundle so I have a lot of the products already. My favorite is the iLauncher and Pocket Breeze is quite nice to be able to have all the PIM stuff in the today screen. My only quip is that the icons I get on many PIM apps including Pocket Informant (yeah, I know they are from WebIS) and others are so ugly compared to what I had on Datebk5/6 in Palm OS. Does anyone have suggestions on where I can get some good or decent looking icons? Most of the icons (I know it’s due to the 240×240 screen size) are so ragged and crude that the only reason I have them is that they still serve some purpose.

I normally view in the month mode/view so that I get a glance of what happens for the days of the month at a glance and it’s the icons that really make it easy.

I am not sure what is your standard for good or decent looking icons because I am not much of an icon person myself. Have you considered making your own icons? Like maybe getting them from the web and converting them?

Hmm yes not really a lot of tips… Many icons look good on the PPC in the view where you pick them, because THEN they have a white background. But then when you add them and they show on your Today screen, they often have white pixels where the icon SHOULD be transparent, and of course that couldn’t be seen on the white background…
