I thought it would be rather interesting to share with you my favorite Windows Mobile sites and in return you share yours. These sites that I have chosen are usually featured in Link Love (which happens every Sunday) because they have interesting articles and they have it on a constant basis. Without rambling on too muc, here are my top 5 (in no order):

Engadget

Engadget Logo

I enjoy this site, but only a certain section (which is their cellphones) because they really have some really interesting news. I do refer to their other sections from time to time when I am bored though

msmobiles.com

msmobiles.com logo

Their website may not account for much but their news is something else altogether. They cover some really great areas of Windows Mobile from interviews to new product launches and even reviews. I wonder how they get their news but until then, I am an avid subscriber.

Pocket PC Addict Forums

Pocket PC Addict logo

This is more of a forum but it’s got some news as well. What I like about the site is that the news is re-written in a personal way such that even if you have read it somewhere else, they might provide another fresh perspective. I also hang out a lot at their forums where we share experiences and help other users with problems.

Smartphone & Pocket PC Magazine

Smartphone & Pocket PC Magazine logo

I used to subscribe to their print magazine a couple of years back but for some strange reason, I stopped (can’t really recall why right now) but have been an avid subscriber to online content, especially their blog for some time now. I particularly enjoy reading the reviews and opinions by the various experts as well.

Just Another Mobile Monday

Just Another Mobile Monday logo

They’re pretty similar to Eten Blog in a sense that they cover news, views and reviews and I have just recently (a couple of weeks back) started paying more attention to them. That’s because their views are really light-hearted and at times, humorous as well. If you love reading rants and complaints, be sure to check them out.

There are other Windows Mobile sites that I subscribe to but these are the more significant ones in my feed reader (yeah I am a feed junkie too though I am trying to rehab  ).

What are your top 5 Windows Mobile site? It could be a news site, a review site or just about any site related to Windows Mobile. Share them with the rest of the readers in the comments below. You can just list your Top 5 if you do not want to explain why you chose them.

At the moment they are:

JustAnotherMobileMonday.com
Solsie.com
Etenblog.com
Smartphone&PocketPCMagazine Blog (subscribed to Werners RSS feed)
Mobility site

pretty much for the same reasons. The news these sites offer match my interests best, and if I click an article in my RSS feeds, it’s most likely on one of these sites, even if the news is also covered on other sites.
From Werners SP&PPCMag blog I’m mainly interested in his game comments, since I highly value his opinion along with the opinion of Doug Goldring (JustAnotherMobileMonday). If I try a game after reading their reviews, I find myself often agreeing with them, and because they’ve spent more time with the game at that moment (since they did the review and I just picked up the trial) their comments will be a good indication of what’s to expect.

I’m honored to be in your Top 5. And I do agree with you on Werners from SP&PPCMag though I love reading his guides and news.

I’m honored as well :D Seems like you both like Solsie.com. I have read some articles from them in the past, maybe it’s time I subscribe as well :D

That’s where I’ve written some reviews in the past as “guest blogger” before I created my own Wordpress.com account. He’s very friendly and helpful, and delivers a lot of news, so that’s good. ;)

Hey, Tariq. Thanks for the mention in your Top 5. That is fantastic! And thanks for the compliments from SPM as well. :)

I have to say that no list of top sites would be complete without mentioning Gear Diary. And I also frequent Clinton Fitch(dot)com quite a bit.

Hi Doug

Welcome to the site. It’s nice to see you here. I do read Gear Diary too but they don’t seem to have a lot Windows Mobile articles lately. But yeah they are a site to look into. I love Clinton Fitch(dot)com for their reviews. There are definitely a lot of great Windows Mobile sites out there I have to say and maybe listing out the Top 5 might be cutting it too narrow :D

GearDiary and ClintonFitch are also important in my RSS reader, but GearDiary didn’t make it because I’ve already checked the most interesting PPC news on other blogs (the robot news is cool and unique for PPC blogs though!), and ClintonFitch regularly posts news updates when it’s not fresh from the presses anymore, but indeed I do like their reviews.

But having to pick a top 5 is good though, it requires us to be selective!

Well, Tariq, I have to disagree with you about Gear Diary not doing much Windows Mobile stuff…only because I write there as well. :) Double duty if you will. I routinely review Windows Mobile programs over there. In fact, I just finished a review of the TrakAx Media Mixer for Windows Mobile, a variety of PDAMill games, Ultimate Search…and who knows what else. :)

Keep your eyes peeled on Gear Diary, Windows Mobile lovers, as I will soon be reviewing Revue for Windows Mobile 6, a multimedia library and player.

OK. I’m done. Hey, you are the one who pinned the rants on JAMM.

But seriously, so check out Gear Diary…after you have finished reading JAMM.

I do check it from time to time but I guess some of the Windows Mobile posts might be among the many posts there. I just have to be extra attentive :D

This is going to be very hard since I have well over 1000 blogs I subscribe to and 90%, okay, may 80-85% of it is technology and gadget related. There’s so many that are great and I just get them daily when I check into Bloglines. I will not try to mention the ones already mentioned since this is meant to share links. So, in addition to what’s already been mentioned, here is my list.

Since I still own a Palm OS Treo 650, I still check out Palm Addicts, which is now changing (like many other sites) into a mobile site rather than solely focused on Palm devices and smartphones.

There’s The Mobile Gadgeteer

Boston Pocket PC

Jason Langridge’s Weblog

Clinton Fitch dot com

Mobility Today

Pocket PC Thoughts

WM Experts

Pocket Now

and of course, Eten blog dot com. (Okay, it’s mentioned already but I wanna be on Tariq’s good side  )

I know it’s more than 5, but who’s counting?

Hi maceyr

I’ve approved this comment and deleted the other 2 since this one was your original to begin with. The spam feature on this site works in such a way that if there are too many links in a comment, it would mark it for moderation (if you are a registered user) or spam (if you are not registered). Not to worry if you leave a comment and it does not come out as it most probably awaiting moderation.
