I don't "get" why so many slide out keyboard smartphones are designed for robotic fingers with the layout so unlike the regular keyboard. After saying that, at least the keyboard layout on the Sony Ericcson Xperia is somewhat better. Even though it really shouldn't matter that much since we aren't really typing with two hands, I personally think it's important to not look like it's a grid of buttons. But that's my opinion.

Sure! It's cool to have the news summarized with links leading to the actual articles. I've got several news sources so I've pretty much read about all of it already, but sometimes it's good to check back a day later and see how others responded to the news. :)

I do agree about the M810 design. I hope that is a prototype and they would improve on the final design. Hopefully something more similar to the V900.

Whoa you sure love this article eh :D I am glad that is the case.

Yeah I heard about the Opera Mobile 9.5 beta as well. I think it's from the HTC Advantage or something. There will always be such risks with these pirated devices so I would not really recommend one to use it.

I do agree with Android. We do not really have much news about it but hopefully this will change in the coming months. T-Mobile (USA) is planning to release an Android handset in Q4 of 2008 and I wonder who they will be going with.

I think our schools need to evolve. We are still stuck in the past when we are already so far ahead in the future. I can understand proper handwriting, but do we need to drum in penmanship? I would rather they focus on stuff like email etiquette to better prepare kids. And I do agree that how you compose your email depends on your audience. You wouldn't be sending your mom and dad a formal email now would you?

Hope you had a nice visit with your grandma :D

 Lots of nice things to read.

The Eten Glofiish M810 design doesn't make me happy like previous devices, I prefer the V900 because of the screen, it doesn't have those borders that almost prevent me from pressing the X and using scrollbars with my fingers.

PS: Almost forgot to talk about how much I want Opera mobile 9.5,
I want it so badly that I will buy it as soon as they allow me to

Do check out the Freeware Arcade over at JAMM. I'm totally addicted to TangledBugs, currently working on level 25. It's very challenging!

On Opera, there is a beta floating around, probably illegal. Be careful if you install it, because it won't appear on the list of installed programs! Now it is not so hard to remove the Opera related FILES that are created on your device, but you will also have to manually look for the file associations that are now linked to Opera, such as html etc. You'll have to look them up and set them to the default browser again, along with restoring the icon. So unless you know what you're doing, be careful about installing the Opera beta that can be found through certain channels. I'm also interested in SkyFire but I'm not part of the beta team, unfortunately.

As for Android - the interface looks clear, but I hope I don't have to tap anything on the top bar! Also, looking at the "Today" screen or how they will call it, I wonder if we can have something like Today screen plugins like PocketBreeze, there doesn't seem to be a lot space for that.

I loved your suggestion to teach e-mail etiquette at schools! Don't think it would be easy since there are so many kinds of e-mails you can send, and more and more people simply don't care if the recipient can read what they wrote.
if someone writes to me like this wihout using capital letters commas and periods and just keeps on typing i often get very temped to give a less nice reply to them and i certainly wont be as helpful as i would be when someone uses nice grammar.
And than some people also misspell words just because they think it's somehow better.
I don't want to complain, if people think that it's nice to misspell words and completely disregard grammar on purpose, that's of course fine with me. As long as they don't get upset when I'm not as helpful as I would be with others. ;)
I do use : - ) and lol quite regularly in e-mails/messages to blog contacts, but when it comes to software developers I only do it when I already know the person. So to contacts at SBSH or Ilium I'd use smileys more easily then when sending a support question to Sprite or Phatware, simply because I haven't had a lot of contact with them.

That's all for now, time to brush my teeth and pay my grandma a visit.
