panot is suppose to be having his exams, or at least suppose to be busy revising from it but that does not seem to stop him from working on a new version of his ROMs. In fact, this is the second revision after the first initial release. There was a v2 but as I was not monitoring it over the weekend, it came up to v2.5 which is what I will be posting and hosting over here. Like the previous versions of the X500 Lighted ROM, this one is also based on the last official X500 ROM (X500 WWE R01 032 0436 MOT0110 WM6) from Eten.

Issues With Older SD Card

Because this ROM has the SDHC patch, there have been reports that older SD (the normal ones) cards do not work on this ROM. To test, install this patch BEFORE you do the ROM update and then see if your SD card can be read. This is the same patch that is in the Lighted ROM and if your card can be read after installing the patch, then it will work after you do the ROM upgrade as well. If your SD card cannot be read, then you have 2 alternatives, get a newer SD card (or a SDHC card) or use these versions which uses the old SD driver.

hi, how would you go about reformatting a SDHC card into FAT16, instead of FAT32? i cannot find an option for the FAT16 type using windows XP or the cmd command

never mind, even after formatting to FAT16, and copying the .exe and .bin to the card, the SD card still was not able to be found.

the bootmode log shows:
usb downloader 0019
flash capacity=128mb
usb downloader ready.
no card in
usb host is not connected yet.

after a long while, it stays at this screen with no further activity. what is the problem?

There seems to be a problem with your card. Is your card a micro SD or micro SDHC? Try using another card and/or make sure that only those 2 files are in that card and nothing else.

Hi hellp and welcome to the site

FAT16 is the same as FAT so you would want to format your card in that format.

Thanks for the suggestion. For me, I just leave it as blank and it pops up as SDMMC. But your suggestion works too if you have a few SD cards that you use.

adding ZIP is not cool, I used TotalCommander for Zips. and I was setting the GPS key to open the Start Menu (and the Home Key as “close”). But keep on great work!
