No problems but I hope you read the instructions clearly next time.

You must use the a normal SD card, not the newer SDHC cards in the market. And you must format the card in FAT (also called FAT16).

As for the ROMs, I would recommend that you use the non-SDHC version and then if you need to, install the SDHC patch.

Hi, I think I have to apoligize first - I was not informed correctlly - I thought that hard reset is the same as entering bootlaoder mode. :) Now I can finally enter it, but it appears that my card is too old - this is what I found on another blog:

Before upgrading install this SDHC.cab and try if your microSD card will be read. Some the oldest microSD cards cannot be read. In such case uninstal SDHC.cab and don't upgrade! (another reason why your card cannot be read is, that you haven't formated your card into FAT16. It is important!)

The problem is, that I bought a new card and the problem remains. :) Any suggestions? And thank you again for beeing patient!

I am not too sure if I you could copy the files over via ActiveSync because it is (highly) recommended that you do so over a memory card reader. One option you could try is to install WM5Storage, format the card to FAT and then copy the files over using that application. Once done, do the Flash From Storage Card process and it should get you up and running to the new ROM.

The problem I see with ActiveSync transfers is that ActiveSync could have changed the file.

Tariq, I am pretty sure that the ROM was not updated – the calculator is as nasty as before , Messenger is still there, TotalCommander not at the specified folder... And the phoe still shuts down 10 sec after receiving a call – so I still have the same problem that made me think of upgrading ROM.

Can you tell me if ma steps are ok:
- backup...
- formating the card to FAT
- copying the files (extracted from the downloaded archive) to the card over ActiveSync
- hard reset (power + reset + hang off + accept)
It should be automatic afterwards (it says »Install« for a couple of minutes), as far I understood, but it seems like I only make a hard reset.

So you are saying that the hard reset went ahead smoothly, just that now that you are in Windows Mobile, you do not see Total Commander? The application is located in your /Windows/ folder. See if you can find it there.

Well, something was instaled. :) But I am not sure what - I did a hard reset (I formated microSD card and then I copied those two files to it), then installation was going on for a couple of mintes and now it works again but everything seems similar as before, I still don't see Total Commander for example. The OS version is: 5.1.342.

You're not suppose to run the .exe from your PDA. Just follow the instructions on flashing your ROM from a storage card and it will be just fine.

It requests V_key - Action Key Verification; text field and two buttons below - Apply or Reset.

This happens, if I try to run the USBDLUpdate.exe from PDA.
