I’m thinking the same. There might be many small developers, but I guess tools to hack WM phones etc don’t get a lot of exposure, and if something like it would rise to the surface, it would be discussed on forums/blogs really fast. That’s the good part about blogs covering the news that is brought through other blogs, you’ll be sure that interesting news (both good and bad) reaches you one way or another!

And in the end, running Sprite Backup every morning makes sure that if something bad happens, I can simply hard reset my device and restore the backup from that morning.
Unless it messes up my storage card first……….

I doubt there is anything in mobile devices that does this to begin with? Looks like mobile manufacturers will have to think of something with more and more people relying on their mobile devices.

There’s nothing in your mobile device that can prevent any software to take your private data and send it to someone, that’s a big flaw in windows mobile.

Initially I thought Windows Mobile was very insecure because it was from Microsoft but since there were no reports after a while, I just ignored that aspect. But with this, I guess we’ll all have to take extra steps.

I think that there are so few stories of bad stuff happening, that theres not really a market for antivirus programs yet. It will probably have to go wrong seriously a few times before people will really find the need for antivirus software. Right now the most popular software comes straight from the developer or sites like Handango, and if they mess up they seriously lose customers. And smaller developers who want to do bad, don’t really have a big audience, so hopefully that keeps them from being a serious threat at this point!

I’m glad to know that Opera finally switch to Google, it’s the best search engine ever made.

Now about the trojan, you wouldn’t believe how much insecure is the windows mobile OS, there’s absolutely no protection.
These days everyone can make software, it’s easy, so the bad ware is moving to mobile devices, be prepared to install antivirus and firewall on your mobile device
