Hi David and welcome to the site. I might not be able to do the 3G speedtest as the area I am in does not have 3G coverage at the moment. However, I will keep your ebooks test in mind.

Thanks spmwinkel. I spent a lot of time on the editing as I was pretty new to the whole process. Thanks for the tip about distance, I will be sure to keep that in mind next time.

Your suggestions sounds interesting. I will definitely give it a go. I could just install the trials of the software. That shouldn't be much of a problem since I am doing quite a few hard resets on the device as I set it up.

I would like to see tests of how well it connects to the Internet. The first step would be to go to one of the web sites that provides a speed test and see just how fast it downloads and uploads. The next would be to set it up, if possible, as a wireless router, using the WiFi to create a network that laptops could connect to, and the 3G to connect the phone to the internet. I gather software to do that exists, although I haven't used it. Then redo the speedtest--from a laptop.

I've had fun with my much slower Edge connection bluetoothing the phone to my Mac, making the Mac function as a wireless router, and driving across the country (my wife behind the steeringwheel) with a very slow mobile hotspot. I'm curious as to how much better that would work with 3G and WiFi in the phone.

Another test would be how well it works for reading books. How long does it take to load a book into the word processor and is there a practical limit to how many you can have loaded at once. I bought a Nokia E90 and then sent it back after discovering that it took about ten minutes to load a book and could only have one book loaded at a time, making it useless for one of the things I use a smart phone for.

I'm sure other people will have other suggestions

I agree, the video was very good, and I look forward to seeing more!
The video was very informative with the specs on the screen and being mentioned while the box was being turned around.

Assuming you want to reach the best video quality you can get, I'd like to suggest to keep the device at the same distance of the camera at all times. If you show the accessoires of the device, and the front and back of the device, you hold it at a certain distance from the camera, which makes the video quality rather sharp. But when showing the MicroSD card slot etc, it's a bit out of focus because it is closer to the camera. And working at such short distances, something like that happens quite quickly. But next time don't pay so much attention to this while recording so that you're only thinking about the distance from the camera, and forget what to tell! Because the info is much more important! I'm assuming there are some really good close-up images to be found on the internet, which will always have better quality than a YouTube video.
And in between the sections, before you start a new section the new section title is already announced very quickly. I'm guessing this is something that happens while pasting part of the video together?

Again, I really liked the video. So because there are no big issues I could mention, I simply have to come up with minor stuff like this. ;)

As part of your coming review, while you include another video? If so, perhaps this setup might be interesting. First set up your Today screens with some third-party Today plugins like iLauncher, PocketBreeze, Spb P+ or whatever, and while you give your introduction, perform a soft reset. This will show the user how long a soft reset takes, and how fast the devices starts up a customized Today screen.

The problem with this is that you migth want to only use the built-in plugins for your review, since third party plugins are often not free and not part of the Eten. But then again, if Spb Mobile Shell is advertised with it, you might be able to set that up (heavily  ).

Awesome phone, and a surprisingly nice video. I agree, it's not often that you see a blogger with such good videos.

Thanks Paulo. It took a lot longer than I expected but it sure was fun making it. It has definitely sparked my interest in making more videos in the future.
